The fact is that most of us spend the majority of our waking hours in bed. And the reasons for this are simple: we get so tired from work or school or whatever it is we do. We want to get up in the morning, but there’s just so much to do. We want to go to the gym, but there’s just so much to do. We want to cook, but there’s just so much to do.
The problem is our sleep makes us less effective. We can think, plan, and strategize better when we’re not tired, but this doesn’t translate into better decision making. As our brains get more tired, our ability to think becomes even more impaired.
This may seem counterintuitive, but the truth is that our sleep affects our thinking. For example, if you’re going to sleep at night, you’ll automatically go to sleep right after you do, and you’ll wake up at the same time as the alarm clock.

Sleeping too little is bad because you can’t do your best work. Sleeving yourself out for too long is bad because you have to wake up earlier than you are supposed to because you dont have time to do your best work. And sleeping too much is bad because you can’t get enough sleep because you are always sleeping too much.
